Cynar

Cynar is a bittersweet Italian amaro made from 13 herbs and plants, most notably artichoke (carciofo in Italian, from which it takes its name). It has a distinctive dark, earthy bitterness balanced by herbal sweetness and notes of caramel and dried fruit. Lower in alcohol than many amari, it is versatile as an aperitivo over ice, in a spritz, or as a cocktail modifier.
