Vermouth (sweet)

Sweet vermouth, also known as rosso or red vermouth, is a fortified and aromatised wine originating from Turin in the 18th century. It is made from white wine that has been sweetened with caramel or cane sugar and infused with a complex blend of botanicals including wormwood, vanilla, cinnamon, clove, and citrus. The result is a rich, bittersweet, and warmly spiced wine with a deep amber colour. It is an indispensable ingredient in the Manhattan, Negroni, and Rob Roy.
