Aperol is a vibrant orange Italian aperitivo liqueur produced in Padua since 1919. Made from a secret recipe of bitter and sweet oranges, rhubarb, gentian, and a blend of herbs and roots, it has a bittersweet, lightly herbal flavour with a relatively low ABV of 11%. Its bright colour and approachable bitterness made it the defining ingredient of the Aperol Spritz — one of the most popular cocktails in the world — and it works equally well in other light, refreshing builds.
